I am halfway homeless.

Ladies and gentlemen, it is getting REAL!

Back in the old days, closing on a house was a little party. You would have the buyer and their realtor, the seller and their realtor, the closing attorney, and maybe more.

When you sell a house during a pandemic, it's more of a zoom happy hour that no one showed up to.

I showed up for my closing today, all masked up. I was instructed to wait in the lobby until the closing attorney led me to a small conference room in the back, decked out with a small table, a chair, and a screen. She launched the zoom call, then left me alone in the room with a stack of papers.

The zoom call launched and there was my realtor dialed in from home, plus the closing attorney dialed in from another room. She shared a copy of the documents I was signing on the screen while I signed my signature on the papers she left behind.

When I was done, she came back, took the papers to check them over. Said I was good to go. And that was it.

Done in 15 minutes!

The buyers are signing their papers a few days later, on Mon, Mar 8 ... the same day my movers come. And then I will be officially homeless!
